Von Vandervien: Good afternoon, DJ iSizzle. It’s great to have you here today. Can you tell us a little bit about your childhood?

DJ iSizzle: Thank you for having me. Well, growing up, I was quite socially awkward and had terrible stage fright. I remember being in plays at the age of 8, and my voice would always crack. I was always afraid of being in front of people, and it was a big struggle for me.

Von Vandervien: That must have been tough. How did you overcome these fears?

DJ iSizzle: I overcame my fears through the power of God, faith, and prayer. I also had great friends growing up who always encouraged me to get on stage and try new things. It wasn’t easy, but I slowly started to gain confidence in myself and my abilities.

Von Vandervien: That’s amazing to hear. Was there anything else that you struggled with growing up?

DJ iSizzle: Yes, actually. I had no idea that eye contact when talking to people meant that you cared. I thought it was disrespectful, so I always looked away. It wasn’t until much later that I realized how important eye contact was in communication.

Von Vandervien: It’s interesting how different cultures and backgrounds can impact social norms. So, how did you find confidence in yourself through music?

DJ iSizzle: Music has always been my passion. When I discovered DJing, I knew it was what I wanted to do. It was scary at first, but once I got behind the decks and saw the crowd enjoying themselves, it gave me a sense of purpose and fulfillment. I found that I was able to express myself through music in ways that I couldn’t with words.

Von Vandervien: That’s a powerful realization. What advice would you give to someone who wants to pursue their passion but is held back by fear?

DJ iSizzle: I would say that fear is normal and that everyone experiences it. But it’s important to remember that fear is not a reason to give up on your dreams. You have to take that first step and have faith in yourself. You may fail at first, but that’s okay. It’s all part of the learning process. Surround yourself with people who support you and encourage you to be your best self. And most importantly, never give up on your passion.
