From introducing newlyweds and welcoming guests to dinner, to toasts, first dances, special moments, and packed dance floors, these are some of my favorite wedding MC moments from the 2026 wedding season.
Every wedding has its own story.
Different couples. Different families. Different venues. Different personalities. Different traditions.
But every wedding has something in common: moments that deserve to be remembered.
As a Seattle Wedding DJ and MC, I have the incredible opportunity to help create and guide many of those moments. From the first announcement of the newlyweds to the final song of the night, my role goes far beyond simply playing music.
I help create the soundtrack.
I help guide the timeline.
I help welcome guests into each part of the celebration.
And when I step behind the microphone as the wedding MC, I help bring those important moments to life.
🎤 Please enjoy a few of my favorite MC moments from the 2026 wedding season!
What Does a Wedding MC Actually Do?
When couples search for a wedding DJ and MC in Seattle, they’re often looking for someone who can do more than play their favorite songs.
They want someone who can confidently guide their guests through the wedding day.
That’s where the MC comes in.
A professional wedding MC helps communicate what is happening, what is happening next, and where guests need to be—all while keeping the celebration feeling natural and personal.
That can include:
- Introducing the newlyweds
- Introducing the wedding party
- Welcoming guests
- Announcing dinner
- Introducing toasts and speeches
- Introducing the first dance
- Guiding parent dances
- Announcing cake cutting
- Inviting guests onto the dance floor
- Making special announcements
- Helping guests understand timeline transitions
- Maintaining energy throughout the reception
- Coordinating with the couple, planner, photographer, caterer, and other vendors
But being a great wedding MC isn’t simply about having a microphone and a loud voice.
It’s about knowing when to speak, what to say, how to say it, and when to let the moment speak for itself.
That’s the approach I bring to every wedding.
The Wedding MC Shouldn’t Be the Star
One of the biggest things I’ve learned as a Seattle wedding DJ and MC is that the wedding is never about the DJ.
It’s about the couple.
The couple is the story.
Their families are part of the story.
Their friends are part of the story.
The memories being created throughout the day are the story.
My job is to help guide everyone through it.
That means I’m comfortable being energetic when the moment calls for it, but I’m equally comfortable stepping back when the couple deserves the spotlight.
A wedding MC shouldn’t be competing with the newlyweds for attention.
The best wedding entertainment feels intentional without feeling forced.
It should feel polished without feeling stiff.
It should feel organized without feeling overly scripted.
And most importantly, it should feel like the couple.
Introducing the Newlyweds
There are few moments in a wedding reception quite like introducing the newlyweds for the first time.
The doors open.
Everyone turns toward the entrance.
The music starts.
Friends and family begin cheering.
And suddenly, after months of planning, the wedding day becomes real.
They’re married.
That introduction may only last a few seconds, but it carries a tremendous amount of emotion.
It’s the first opportunity for everyone in the room to officially celebrate the couple as newlyweds.
As a wedding MC, I want that introduction to feel authentic to the couple.
Not generic.
Not overproduced.
Not like I’m trying to steal the spotlight.
Whether the room is elegant and intimate or loud and full of energy, the introduction should match the couple and the atmosphere they’ve created.
Sometimes the room absolutely erupts.
Sometimes the moment is more emotional.
Sometimes the couple comes through the doors ready to party.
Every wedding is different.
And that’s exactly why I love what I do.
Welcoming Wedding Guests to Dinner
Dinner is another important transition during a wedding reception.
Guests have spent the earlier part of the day celebrating, taking photos, talking with family, enjoying cocktail hour, and reconnecting with friends.
Then the energy shifts.
It’s time to bring everyone together for dinner.
As a professional wedding MC, part of my job is making that transition easy for guests.
A good dinner announcement isn’t simply about saying, “Dinner is ready.”
It gives everyone direction.
It lets guests know what is happening next.
And it helps keep the wedding reception moving naturally.
This is one of the reasons I believe that structure creates freedom.
When guests understand what’s happening, they can relax.
When the timeline is being guided confidently, the couple doesn’t have to worry about what comes next.
And when everyone feels taken care of, they can spend more time enjoying the celebration.
First Dance Introductions
Then there are the moments when the microphone gets quieter.
The first dance is one of them.
There is something incredibly powerful about watching an entire room stop and focus on two people who have just promised their lives to each other.
The music begins.
The room settles.
And for a few minutes, everything else disappears.
As the wedding MC, my role is simple:
Introduce the moment.
Create the space for it.
And let the couple have it.
I don’t need to talk over the moment.
I don’t need to manufacture emotion.
I don’t need to make myself the center of attention.
The moment already has everything it needs.
The couple.
The song.
Their people.
Their story.
Sometimes the best wedding MC work is knowing when to step back.
Creating Space for Wedding Toasts and Speeches
Wedding toasts are some of the most personal moments of a reception.
They can be funny.
They can be emotional.
They can be unexpected.
Sometimes they’re all three.
Behind every toast is someone who cares deeply about the couple and is willing to stand in front of an entire room to share their story.
That deserves to be treated with respect.
As a Seattle wedding MC, I help create the space for those stories.
I introduce the speaker.
I make sure guests know who is speaking.
I help transition between speakers.
And then I let that person tell their story.
Because those stories are part of what makes each wedding unique.
The childhood stories.
The college stories.
The “how we met” stories.
The embarrassing stories.
The stories that make everyone laugh.
The stories that make someone quietly wipe away a tear.
Those are the memories people carry with them.
The Little Wedding Moments Matter Too
When people think about a wedding MC, they often picture the big moments.
The grand entrance.
The first dance.
The speeches.
The cake cutting.
The bouquet toss.
The last dance.
But there are countless smaller moments happening throughout a wedding reception that matter just as much.
Making an announcement so guests know where to go.
Helping transition from dinner into dancing.
Getting everyone’s attention when something special is about to happen.
Making sure a family member knows when they are being introduced.
Adjusting when the timeline changes.
Helping keep the energy moving when the room needs it.
These moments might not become the centerpiece of a wedding video, but they matter.
Because when they’re done well, guests don’t have to think about them.
Everything simply flows.
And that’s the goal of professional wedding entertainment.
Reading the Room as a Wedding DJ & MC
Every wedding has its own language.
You have to pay attention.
You have to listen.
You have to watch.
You have to understand the couple.
And you have to read the room.
Some groups are naturally loud and energetic.
Others are more reserved.
Some couples want a huge celebration.
Others want something intimate and elegant.
Some families love being involved.
Others prefer to sit back and enjoy the evening.
The same announcement can feel completely different depending on the people in the room.
That’s why I don’t believe being a great wedding MC is simply about having a loud voice or being comfortable with a microphone.
It’s about awareness.
It’s knowing how to communicate with a room without taking over the room.
It’s knowing when to bring the energy up.
It’s knowing when to bring it down.
It’s knowing when to make people laugh.
It’s knowing when a moment deserves sincerity.
And it’s knowing when to step back and let the couple, family, or friends take the spotlight.
Keeping the Wedding Reception Moving
Behind every great wedding celebration is a timeline.
But weddings rarely follow that timeline perfectly.
Photos take longer than expected.
Dinner runs late.
A speech goes longer.
Someone needs a few extra minutes.
A vendor needs something.
A guest is missing.
Something changes.
That’s wedding life.
And a wedding DJ and MC needs to be able to adapt without making the couple feel like something has gone wrong.
I’m not there simply to read a schedule.
I’m there to help execute the experience.
The goal is for the couple to be able to look around their reception and enjoy the people they invited instead of constantly wondering what happens next.
That’s why preparation matters so much.
The better I understand the couple, their priorities, their music, their family dynamics, and their vision for the day, the better I can help bring that vision to life.
Why I Love Being a Wedding MC
I’ve always loved music.
That’s obviously a huge part of being a DJ.
But weddings have taught me that music is only one piece of the experience.
The other piece is people.
It’s watching a father see his daughter for the first time.
It’s watching a couple walk into a room surrounded by their closest friends and family.
It’s hearing someone tell a story about the couple that nobody else knew.
It’s seeing grandparents get emotional during a first dance.
It’s watching the dance floor slowly fill up.
It’s hearing everyone cheer when the newlyweds are introduced.
It’s the laugh that comes from a perfectly timed announcement.
It’s the quiet moment before the music starts.
It’s the celebration after the music drops.
Those are the moments that make weddings meaningful to me.
The music creates the atmosphere.
The MC helps guide the moments.
But ultimately, the people make the wedding.
Looking Back at the 2026 Wedding Season
The 2026 wedding season gave me so many moments that I’ll carry with me.
Every couple brought something different.
Every venue had its own personality.
Every family had its own dynamic.
Every dance floor had its own energy.
And every wedding challenged me to continue getting better.
That’s one of my favorite things about being a Seattle Wedding DJ and MC.
Even after years of doing this, I’m still learning.
I’m still refining how I communicate.
I’m still learning how to read different rooms.
I’m still finding better ways to prepare.
I’m still thinking about how to make the experience smoother for my couples.
And I’m still incredibly grateful that people trust me with such an important day.
That trust means something.
When a couple hands me the microphone, they’re not simply asking me to make announcements.
They’re trusting me to represent them.
They’re trusting me to help guide their guests.
They’re trusting me to help protect the flow of their day.
And they’re trusting me to know when to bring the energy and when to let the moment speak for itself.
That’s a responsibility I’m proud to have.
To Every Couple Who Trusted DJ iSizzle
To every couple who trusted DJ iSizzle Weddings to be part of their wedding day in 2026:
Thank you.
Thank you for inviting me into one of the most important days of your lives.
Thank you for trusting me with your music.
Thank you for trusting me with your timeline.
Thank you for trusting me with your guests.
And thank you for allowing me to help create some of the moments you’ll remember for years to come.
I know I’m one part of a much bigger wedding team.
There are photographers capturing the memories.
Videographers preserving the stories.
Planners keeping everything organized.
Caterers taking care of everyone.
Florists creating beautiful spaces.
Venues providing the backdrop.
And countless other talented wedding professionals working behind the scenes.
But when that microphone comes on, I know I have a job to do:
Help the couple’s day feel like their day.
That is always the goal.
More Than a Wedding DJ
Being a wedding DJ is about so much more than pressing play.
And being a wedding MC is about so much more than holding a microphone.
It’s preparation.
It’s communication.
It’s timing.
It’s awareness.
It’s professionalism.
It’s adaptability.
It’s knowing the couple.
It’s knowing the room.
And most importantly, it’s understanding that the wedding isn’t about the DJ.
It’s about the people who came to celebrate.
I’m there to create the soundtrack.
I’m there to keep the celebration moving.
I’m there to make announcements when they’re needed.
I’m there to create energy when the room needs it.
I’m there to make transitions feel natural.
And I’m there so the couple can spend more time being present with the people they love.
Because when the night is over, I don’t want everyone talking about how great the DJ was at being the center of attention.
I want them talking about how much fun they had.
How beautiful the ceremony was.
How funny the speeches were.
How emotional the first dance was.
How incredible it felt to see the newlyweds walk into the room.
And, of course, how they danced until they couldn’t dance anymore.
That’s the win.
2026, Thank You. ❤️
So as I look back at another wedding season, I’m feeling incredibly thankful.
Thankful for the couples.
Thankful for the families.
Thankful for the friends.
Thankful for the venues.
Thankful for the wedding professionals I get to work alongside.
And thankful for every single moment where I’ve had the opportunity to pick up that microphone and help bring a wedding to life.
From introducing newlyweds and welcoming everyone to dinner, to toasts, first dances, special moments, packed dance floors, and everything in between…
these are the moments I’ve had the honor of bringing to life this year.
🎤 Please enjoy a few of my favorite MC moments from the 2026 wedding season.
Every wedding has its own story.
I’m just grateful I get to help tell it.
