Hey party people, DJ iSizzle here! In this episode of my podcast, I’m pulling back the curtain and giving you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how I build wedding music crates that keep the dance floor lit from start to finish. Whether you’re a fellow DJ, a couple planning your big day, or just curious about how the soundtrack to your wedding night comes together, this one’s for you.

🎶 Here’s what we’ll cover in the episode:

💑 Couple’s Playlist – Where the Magic Begins

The journey starts with the couple. Most of them send me a Spotify playlist filled with songs that represent their love story, party vibes, and must-plays. This is where I really get a sense of their style and energy. From romantic slow dances to turn-up bangers, I listen to every track and start building the blueprint.

🧠 My Structure – Organized Vibes Only

Once I get a feel for the couple’s taste, I plug it into my structured system. My music crates aren’t just random lists—they’re designed with flow in mind. I break everything into sections: ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, special moments (first dance, cake cutting, etc.), and the dance party.

⏱️ Tempo Folders – Setting the Pace

One of my secret weapons? Tempo folders. I create folders based on BPM ranges (80–100, 100–115, 115–128, and so on). This helps me build energy gradually and drop the right song at the perfect moment. It’s all about reading the room and controlling the momentum.

🎧 My Philosophy – Curating the Perfect Wedding Mix

To me, wedding DJing isn’t just about playing music—it’s about storytelling. I aim to blend the couple’s vision with crowd-pleasers in a seamless way that feels natural, emotional, and unforgettable. I believe in making everyone feel like part of the party.

💾 Downloading Everything – Always Be Ready

Even though we live in a streaming world, I download every track I use. No Wi-Fi? No problem. Having everything on my hard drive gives me the confidence to adapt and pivot on the fly—especially when Aunt Carol suddenly requests ABBA!

🔥 DJ Pools – Keeping It Fresh

I stay ahead of the curve by using DJCity, Beatsource, and BPM Supreme. These pools give me access to clean edits, remixes, and trending tracks that help keep my sets modern while honoring the classics.

🌊 Streaming Services – Tidal in the Clutch

For those “in the moment” requests or curveball songs, I turn to Tidal via Serato. It’s a lifesaver when I need that one track I didn’t think would be requested. Streaming is a tool—not a crutch.

🍏 Apple Music – Paying Per Track When It Counts

Sometimes the couple’s must-play song isn’t in my usual sources. That’s when I hop on Apple Music or iTunes and just buy it. If a song is important to them, it’s worth it to me. Period.

💻 Serato – My Ride or Die

I run my sets through Serato DJ Pro because of its reliability and seamless integration with my library and hardware. I love the visual waveform interface, cue points, and crate management—everything just clicks for how I work.

Whether you’re a wedding DJ looking to level up or a couple curious about how the music comes together for your big day, this episode is packed with tips, philosophy, and a peek into the method behind the magic.
